Tsering's Forge
The Story

Tsering's grandfather set up the forge in 1962, on a lane so narrow the morning sun only reaches it for an hour. The tools have not changed since.

The prayer bowls, kettles, and butter tea churns that leave this workshop are found in nearly every kitchen in the old town. Each piece is stamped with a small crescent — the family mark — on its underside.

In winter, when the passes close, Tsering repairs. In summer, he creates. His son now works the second anvil.
