The Pashmina House
The Story

Each spring, Dolma travels to the Changpa nomad camps at 4,500 metres to select the season's raw fibre — combed by hand from the underbelly of the pashmina goat.

Back in Leh, a collective of thirty weavers works the wool on wooden looms that have been passed between families for a century. A single shawl takes seventy hours.

The house refuses machine finishing. The result carries the faint, uneven warmth that only a hand can leave behind.
